I am passionate about helping and treating women.
In Chinese Medicine, ancient texts refer to women being ten times as hard to treat than men! Why is this? I probably don't need to tell you - but it's due to the fact that our hormones vary throughout the month and we are, let's face it, sometimes perceived by others, as different people depending on the time of the month.
I have spent a lot of time furthering my acupuncture training to focus on ways and means to help and support women - at any stage of life and with any condition - from experiencing irregular or painful periods, PMT, Fertility issues, post natal support, stress (sometimes that comes with balancing being a mother and a career) and peri and menopausal issues.
I have been amazed AND experienced first hand the difference acupuncuture can make. Sometimes "it's hard to be a women" and it can feel overwhelming. I totally get that. What I can offer is a different approach, a different view on how to approach your healthcare (and self-care) to one that you might come across from a visit to your GP. It's not rocket science, but it is the Traditional Chinese Medicine approach to healthcare. My approach to helping women is holisitc but realistic. I understand that modern life means you may not have the time to meditate, exercise daily and cook every meal from scratch. I also understand the role and importance of western (modern) medicine. My approach is very much integreated and not alternative - my aim is to help you with acupuncture treatments but also to empower and guide you to help yourself and support you along the way. I do KNOW it's not easy but I also KNOW it's possible.
Coming for an acupuncture session is, in my opinion, just the start. Treatment goes way beyond just the needles. I offer lifestyle advice, diet recommendations and ways to help you to THRIVE and embrace being a woman.
